CM5 login failures from prognosis server 1 Year, 11 Months ago
I am sseeing multiple login failures from the Prognosis server IP to the CM5 throughout the day. The format is:
Login cdispla at Mar 1 08:26:14 on apsserver02 from rhost=10.172.11.138 via telnet
I do not recognoze this account so I am a little concerned. We are seseing 3-4 of these per hour and they are occuring throughout the day. Some attempts have the login ID as 712cff0, others cdispla.
Because this login attempt originates from the Prognosis server, I am wondering if I might have missed something when Prognosis was installed.
We are using a different account in the VoIP Monitor PBX setup. That account is connecting just fine.
Users are not reporting any problems with Prognosis.
We are at the current version of Prognosis.
The Prognosis server is dedicated to Prognosis. There are no apparent server or application errors present. There are no apparent instances of users logging on to the Prognosis server.
Anyone have any idea what might be causing these login failures originating from the Prognosis server?

You should only see 2 logins as far as Prognosis is concerned and they will be the account you created for SAT conectivity.
I am not sure what these other logins are, did you by any chance have other software installed prior to PVM? I can say with certainty that it is not the software initiating the login attempts. Did you by any chance have VMM installed on this server prior to PVM?

It is important that you follow the configuration guide to setup the PROGNOSIS user on CM. This ensures that the correct permissions are granted for the SAT login. The permission settings are quite important as if the user has too many rights, more security challenges are required - hence potentially causing some of the issues you are seeing. Can you confirm that you setup the PROGNOSIS user in CM as per the documentation and did not reuse an existing login?

I verified the account was set up according to instructions and that VMM is not installed. I will take a hard look at what is running on the server in a few minutes. Should only be PVM and I'll know for sure momentarily.
