Why so many alerts? 2 Years, 8 Months ago
I like what I have seen so far but I am not a fan of the ridiculous amount of email alerts though.

Why is it necessary to receive up to 4 emails for 1 event?

How can I customize what alerts I get or don't get?

I do not want to be notified about route patterns being down. It's not logical for a route pattern to be down. If a trunk goes temporarily out of service, you get alerts for the trunk but then every single route pattern that uses that trunk gets an alert (3-4 per). In a large setup, you could get 300-400 emails. That's a waste of system resources.

Thanks,
Keith

On Prognosis VoIP Monitor you "cannot" customize the alerts.

PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Manager -- an enterprise version of PROGNOSIS VoIP Monitor provides monitoring of a large number of phones and includes additional features such as multi-vendor support, highly customizable interface and advanced reporting capabilities. I would recommend you try that out. For more information about PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Manager, please visit www.prognosis.com/iptelephony or please send a query via the contact us link at the top of this page and some-one witll get in touch with you.

Thanks
Raj

I would have preferred that you answer my question instead of giving me a blurb from your website. I have read that already and have a very specific question.

Can I do what I asked with the other version?

I have asked my business partner for a quote.

Is there a trial for Prognosis IP Telephony Manager?

I've had to uninstall the other trial because of the lack of configuration. Again, it's _silly_ to alert on route patterns.

Hi Kieth,

Just curious, why do you feel that it's silly to alert on route patterns?

Re:Why so many alerts? 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I agree.

In order to have a route pattern down, I would have to have multiple trunks or links to a location down. Alerting on route patterns as well provides little useful data and if it really generates 100's of alerts would be a waste of resources to have to sort through that email storm.
